Move-in & Move-out Information

Moving In

Step 1

In the first 2 days...

  1. Confirm receipt of your approval email and download Provest Realty Inc’s Tenant Mobile App & the Online Portal by Appfolio App.
  2. Within 48 Hours following approval, the Hold Deposit in the form of a Cashier’s Check or Money Order(s) made payable to: Provest Realty Inc. needs to be turned into one of our offices and a move-in date needs to be confirmed. Note: After-hour drop slots are available at both locations.
  3. Sign the Offer to Rent & Hold Deposit Agreement. (This is sent to you to sign electronically.)
  4. Complete your Pet Screening Profile. (Only one profile is required per household. Applies whether you have a pet or not.)
  5. Begin the process of transferring the required utilities into your name. To help simplify the process, you may use your included Resident Benefit Utility Concierge Service. Simply schedule a convenient time with the Utility Concierge directly by visiting: Utility Concierge Service. You will need to know which utilities you are responsible for transferring into your name, as outlined in your Offer to Rent. The Utility Concierge service will take it from there!

Step 2

At least 7 days prior to Move In...

  1. Make sure all utilities (Nice to Know Numbers) have been scheduled for turn-on. And, if applicable, make sure you have signed & returned all utility forms sent to you by Provest Realty. This is required before we can send your lease for signatures.
  2. Update your address with service providers (Bank, Insurance, Internet, Cable, etc.).
  3. Put in a change of address with U.S.P.S..
  4. Renters Insurance – If you are using the insurance included with your Resident Benefits Package, you are all set and there is nothing more to do. If you are providing your own insurance, use this link to provide your insurance to our business partner for verification and further instructions.

Step 3

At least 4 days prior to Move In...

  1. Login to your Resident Portal to Review & Sign your lease.
  2. Double check your Moving Plan and make sure you have the help and transportation all set up.

Step 4

It's Moving Day!

  1. Make sure you have all of your Move-In funds in the form of a Cashier’s Check or Money Order payable to Provest Realty Inc.
  2. Visit the designated office that was communicated to you by your application processor to pay your final move-in expenses and pick up your keys!
  3. Before you bring in your furniture and belongings, now is a good time to spend 20 minutes or so documenting any cosmetic deficiencies in the home. We recommend you take pictures and complete your Move-In Inspection Form (MII). You can complete this form online, or print it and return it to us.
  4. Start moving in!

Step 5

Within 5 days after taking possession...

  1. Setup your Property Meld account for any maintenance needs. FAQ’s
  2. Turn in your Move-In Inspection Form (MII) to our office, or email to

Moving Out

Step 1

Complete 45-30 Days Prior to Move Out Date

Step 2

Complete 30-15 Days Prior to Move Out Date

Step 3

Complete 15-1 Days Prior to Move Out Date

  • Update Your Mailing Address
  • Repair Any Damage That Occurred During Your Tenancy (Excluding Normal Wear & Tear)
  • Clean the Property - Or - Hire Professional Cleaners

Final Step

Return All Keys & Remotes to Provest Realty Inc.

The keys and remotes must be returned to one of Provest Realty Inc’s offices. When visiting the office, please make sure to provide your forwarding address if you haven’t already and also receipt(s) for cleaning or carpet cleaning if you hired professionals to do this. If you are unavailable during normal business hours, you may drop the keys off through the drop slot at our Hesperia location.(Drop slot is on the left door – Please put everything in an envelope and include the property address)
